Bio Sketch

Amit was born and raised in Varanasi, India, a city steeped in culture and tradition, where his academic journey began with a bachelor's degree in Chemistry from Banaras Hindu University (B.H.U., 2021). His passion for research bloomed during his master’s at IIT Guwahati (2023), where he completed a thesis on Redox-Enabled Cooperative Catalysis by Activating Secondary Alcohols Using Low-Valent Zn Complexes under Prof. Dipankar Srimani. Amit now continues his scientific pursuits in Lovinger's lab at Purdue University as a graduate student. Outside the lab, he channels his creativity through sketching and photography, stays active with gym workouts, and enjoys experimenting in the kitchen with flavorful dishes. A music enthusiast and billiards player, Amit balances his passion for science with a vibrant and dynamic personal life.
