Bio Sketch
Fox was born in Evansville and grew up half his life in Indiana before moving to Kentucky. While in Kentucky he attended Western Kentucky University and obtained both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in chemistry. Fox was a member of Dr. Rui Zhang’s research lab where he studied the catalytic properties of several heme and heme-like metal complexes as well as the light-harvesting effects of extending the visible spectrum of these complexes through the use of fluorophores (i.e. BODIPY dyes). After graduation, Fox took some time off to be with family before returning to academia to pursue his PhD in chemistry at Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN under the guidance of Gabriel Lovinger. Fox is an avid fisherman and has one cat named Shrimp that was a rescue that was recovered from the side of the road.
